【Romanticなお出かけに☆】神宮外苑 いちょう並木と、ゲーテ etc

クリスマスイヴまで、あと10日ほどですね。
ロマンティックなお出かけで、並木道の名所といえば、明治神宮外苑の約300mも続く、黄金色に染まって美しい「いちょう並木」。
このいちょう並木の樹齢はなんと、今年2014年で106年。
明治41年（1908年）に新宿御苑の在来木から採集したいちょうの種子を豊島御料地（現在の明治神宮内）の苗圃に蒔いたのだそうです。
その苗圃で、樹高6m内外に成長していた1,600本より選ばれ、更に年々樹形を整えてきたものを植栽したもの。
